TA-500 solutions for Sound Services Masterworks

Sound Services Masterworks Group, based in Wellington, New Zealand, has recently taken delivery of a Turbosound Aspect® Wide system, a solution chosen as a large format yet scalable system to cope with the company’s diverse portfolio of productions, which range from corporate hire to concert and broadcast audio, both indoors and outdoors.

After an impromptu outdoor demonstration, following Turbosound distributor Audio Telex’s Auckland Roadshow late last year, Stu Clark, Manager Director of Sound Service Masterworks, found exactly what he had been looking for: a system that provided projection and clarity, even on a windy day some 80m back, and was, he says, nothing short of impressive.

After consultation with Audio Telex Auckland, Clark and his team decided to purchase eight Aspect Wide TA-500s and six TSW-218 dual 18” concert subs. For maximum flexibility, the TA-500s can be run full range and, at some events, Clark is using them without subs.

Control for the system is via a Turbosound LMS-D26NET, included in each rack so that each can be run stereo when the system is split, or work as mono racks (one for left and one for right) when the systems are combined. These are networked for control and monitoring via a laptop at FOH.

Flight cases for the system are the new Australian Monitor Rack ‘n’ Roll 9RU floating touring racks, each supplied with a custom Aspect patch panel to allow simple connection of the system.

Sound Services Masterworks new Aspect Wide package gives Clark and his team a system suitable for its entire range of events and it has been nothing but smiles all around since the system arrived.
